Strategic Planning and Business Analysis
The Strategy and Business Analysis team works co-operatively with staff across the organisation on the ongoing development and implementation of the Curtin University planning framework, the development of competitive strategies and the development of strategic projects to business case. The activities of the team support the strategic positioning of Curtin University to facilitate its success and sustainability.
Australia's higher education sector continues to experience significant and ongoing change. An increasingly competitive global environment, increased Federal Government direction, a rapidly changing policy context, and changing demographics of both student cohort and staff form the complex environment in which Australian Universities must function.
The Curtin University planning framework draws on the Balanced Scorecard Framework. It focuses effort on four major components of our business - core activities, students and clients, culture and financial security. The intention of the framework is to promote strategic thinking across the University, align all activities to strategic priorities, meet the expectations of clients and community and establish a shared set of values across the university.
