Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA)

The Australian Universities Quality Agency - AUQA - was formally established in March 2000 by the Ministerial Council for Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (MCEETYA). All AUQA operations ceased in January 2012 and were transferred to the Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA).

The first cycle of audits with all Australian Universities was between 2002 and 2007. AUQA cycle 1 audits were a whole of institution audit utilising a fitness for purpose approach. AUQA cycle 2 audits commenced in 2008 using the same approach, focussing on two themes with internationalisation as one mandatory theme for all Universities.

The key documents relating to AUQA Cycle 2 Audit can be accessed below:

Audits reports carried out by the former AUQA are available from the TEQSA webiste. Visit the audit report archive.
